For a luxury RV resort in Florida within easy reach of the Gulf beaches, Splash RV Resort sits in the Panhandle just off I-10 in Milton, and from there it’s a 25-minute drive to Navarre Beach and 27 minutes to Pensacola. On the property you’ll find 280-plus concrete RV sites, each with full hookups plus 50-amp power; a lazy river; a pair of water slides; two heated pools, one for families and one for adults only; 34 luxury cottages; and eight covered Conestoga wagons for glamping.

We’re writing this about a week after Hurricane Isaias, so here’s the news that matters most: Splash is open and taking reservations, power, water and sewer are back on, and the pools reopened on Wednesday, Oct. 14.

Splash at a glance:

  • RV sites: more than 280 of them, every one full hookup with 50-amp power, concrete pads on concrete roads, and room for rigs up to 111 feet (pull-thrus available).
  • Water: the lazy river, two water slides, the heated family pool and splash pad, a heated adults-only pool, and a hot tub in the cooler months.
  • No RV? Book one of 34 luxury cottages (sleeps up to 6) or one of eight Conestoga glamping wagons (sleeps up to 4).
  • Location: 8500 Welcome Church Road, Milton, right by Exit 31 on I-10. Drive times: 25 minutes to Navarre Beach, 27 to Pensacola.
  • This fall: two Spooktober weekends left (Oct. 23 to 25, then Oct. 30 to 31), followed by 50% off for military members and veterans Nov. 6 to 8 with code THANKYOU50.

What makes a luxury RV resort in Florida different from an RV park?

Legally, nothing. Florida law files both under one name, so the luxury label comes down to what’s on the ground: concrete pads, 50-amp full hookups, resort pools, upscale bathhouses and a calendar that’s actually full. Splash RV Resort near Pensacola has every one of them, and that’s the standard we’d hold any Florida resort to.

Under Section 513.01 of the 2025 Florida Statutes, the terms “campground,” “camping resort,” “RV resort,” “travel resort,” and “travel park” “are synonymous with the term ‘recreational vehicle park.'” Florida’s RV parks are licensed annually by the Florida Department of Health through the state’s 67 county health departments.

So whether a place bills itself among the luxury RV parks in Florida or calls itself a resort, the name alone doesn’t promise much. You’ve got to look past it at the pads, the power, the pools and the people running the place.

What should the best luxury RV resorts in Florida have?

The best luxury RV resorts in Florida get the basics right first: a level concrete pad, 50-amp full hookups and room for a big rig. Then they add the resort part, like heated pools, a lazy river, nice bathhouses, WiFi that holds up and meals somebody else makes. Here’s how Splash RV Resort in Milton measures up.

Plenty of people are shopping this fall, too. An RV Industry Association survey released in August 2026 found that 23 million Americans are planning to take an RV trip this fall.

Does Splash RV Resort have big-rig sites near Pensacola?

What amenities come with a stay at Splash RV Resort?

A stay at Splash RV Resort comes with the lazy river, water slides and heated pools, and RV site registration covers resort access for up to four people. Nobody pays extra for the 18-hole mini golf course, and you’ll find the pickleball complex, the fitness center and a full week of activities on the same Milton grounds near Navarre Beach.

  • The lazy river and water slides: two slides, an open one and an enclosed one (48-inch height minimum).
  • Heated family pool with a splash pad, plus a heated adults-only pool.
  • A hot tub for the cooler months: its season begins a week past Labor Day and ends the week before Memorial Day.
  • Tiki Bar, Biergarten and food trucks, with burgers, pizza and ice cream.
  • 18-hole mini golf, a pickleball complex, a basketball half-court, a GaGa ball court and a playground.
  • A fitness center stocked with free weights, a cycle, a step machine and a treadmill.
  • Dog parks, plus a station for washing the dog.
  • The Great Lodge, home to the camp store and arcade.

Hours shift with the season. Here’s what the resort’s posted Fall Bridge Season hours show, good through Nov. 1, 2026:

The Conestoga glamping wagons are a nod to real history. The original Conestoga was a horse-drawn freight wagon named after Pennsylvania’s Conestoga River, and Wikipedia’s history of the wagon notes such wagons were in use as early as 1717. Ours haul sleepy kids instead, and they share a communal fire pit and a 26-foot teepee with seating.

How far is the drive to Pensacola and Navarre Beach?

Navarre Beach sits roughly 25 miles and 25 minutes from Splash RV Resort, and Pensacola is 23 miles and about 27 minutes away, with the resort right by Exit 31 on I-10 in Milton. Pensacola Beach and Gulf Breeze are each about 40 minutes away, so a beach morning and a pool afternoon fit in the same day.

Navarre Beach is the closest sand. Julie White, Santa Rosa County’s tourist development director, said in a ConventionSouth feature: “With sugar-white sands, clear turquoise waters, and the longest public fishing pier in Florida, we offer understated beauty and endless water views that encourage relaxation and reconnection.”

That pier is 1,545 feet long, according to the county’s tourism office, and Santa Rosa County’s Oct. 16 storm update says the Navarre Beach Fishing Pier reopens daily from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. beginning Tuesday, Oct. 20.

What’s happening around Pensacola this fall?

The first weekend of November is the big one near Pensacola. NAS Pensacola hosts the free Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show on Nov. 6 to 7, 2026, and the free Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival fills Seville Square Nov. 6 to 8. It’s also the Thank You Military & Veterans weekend at Splash RV Resort, with 50% off.

  • Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show, Nov. 6 to 7: the official air show site says admission is free, the show starts at 9:30 a.m., with gates opening at 8 a.m.
  • Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival, Nov. 6 to 8: the festival brings over 200 artists to Seville Square in downtown Pensacola, with free admission, open 9 to 5 Friday and Saturday, then 9 to 4 Sunday.
  • Waitress at the Saenger Theatre, Oct. 26 and 27: the Broadway musical plays the Saenger Theatre at 118 South Palafox Place.

Pensacola is about 27 minutes from the resort, so a morning at the festival still leaves the afternoon for the heated pool.

Is Splash RV Resort open after Hurricane Isaias?

Yes, and reservations are open. Splash RV Resort in Milton says power, water and sewer are back on, the pools reopened on Wednesday, Oct. 14, and the resort expected a normal, full weekend starting Friday, Oct. 16. If the storm displaced you, call the office at (850) 600-8500 to ask about special rates.

Recovery is still going on around Santa Rosa County. The county’s Oct. 16 update lists a number of county parks and boat ramps that remain closed, so check before you head out to one.

Planning a trip later in the season? Splash’s rules let you change or cancel a reservation without a fee if the National Weather Service issues a hurricane or tropical storm warning affecting the resort, or if a state of emergency is declared for Santa Rosa County.
