48 Hours in Pensacola, FL with Splash RV Resort

If you plan to visit Pensacola, you’re in good company. According to Visit Pensacola, over 2 million people traveled to this pristine beach town on Florida's Gulf Coast in 2023. Coined “The Way to Beach,” there is no shortage of noteworthy spots to explore between long beach days with family and friends!! But with so much to do, it can be hard to pinpoint exactly what’s worth your time. Located less than 30 miles from Pensacola Beach, Splash RV Resort offers a unique way to stay—and a local perspective regarding the best way to experience Pensacola, even if just for a day or two.

This post highlights the best places to dine, sip, and unwind in Pensacola, broken down into a curated 48-hour itinerary you can save! Let’s dive in, shall we?

DAY ONE

Waking up in a new place—especially when it’s sunny, and there’s a faint scent of saltwater in the air—emulates instant refreshment as you break from the day-to-day. During your first day on the Gulf Coast, of course, you want to hit the beach. But before you head to the shore, make a much-needed pit stop at Maker’s for delicious coffee, espresso, and handcrafted eats. From avocado toast to breakfast frittata and organic biscuits with sausage gravy (need we say more?), you will find the fuel you need to fill up before going to the beach!

After breakfast, it’s time to find your spot in the sand! Pensacola has an 18-mile stunning beachfront, complete with iconic white sand and green-blue water that begs to be splashed in. Public access points and parking are available, depending on where you want to spend the day! Explore all that Pensacola Beach offers, and find your perfect spot HERE.

Traveling with your pup? Be sure to park at these specific access points, so your dog can tag (& tail wag!) along with you!

After the beach, it’s time to get ready for the evening! If Happy Hour is what you’re looking for, check out Union Public House in downtown Pensacola. Or, if you want to opt for a delicious date night location instead, secure your reservation at  Iron.

DAY TWO

Waking up on day two, slightly sunkissed and happy, you’ll want to check out All Prima Coffee Roasters for your morning cup of coffee, espresso shot, or tea. Complete your morning caffeine hit with staples like cinnamon rolls, quiche options, and an array of paninis. Or if it just so happens that your second day lands on Saturday, be sure to stop by the Palafox Market. Open every Saturday between 9:00 am-2:00 pm, Southern Living named THIS the best Farmers Market in Florida.

Two beach days are better than one, but if you want to explore what else Pensacola has to offer, check out a Wahoo’s Game or the Blue Angels Practice before heading to happy hour at Flounder’s Chowder House. This beachfront spot is relaxed and most known for its drink specials and entertainment lineup!

After a day spent outdoors at the beach, catching a ball game, or cheering on the Blue Angels, your last night in town calls for a Pensacola staple. We love George Bistro & Bar or The Grand Marlin for dinner!

The last day of a getaway is always bittersweet! Before you head home, hit up Fosko for coffee and signature crepes! If you drove into town, stop by the New Yorker on the way out to stock up on deli favorites and car snacks for the road! Or, if you need one more sweet treat to beat the salt-filled, humid heat, take a quick detour to Wild Honey for frozen yogurt.

Florida’s Gulf Coast is known for its truly beautiful beaches—but the culture of hospitality that lives along the Coast is why people return year after year! We hope this curated list of local-approved spots helps guide your best visit to Pensacola yet. Whether it’s your first time or you're a vet to the area, there’s always something new to discover.

And if you’re ready to experience the perfect blend of secluded nature and Gulfside fun, we’re ready to welcome you at Splash RV Resort (no RV required!). Check out our lodging options to book your stay today!
