The Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival 2026 takes over Seville Square in downtown Pensacola on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 6, 7 and 8, and admission is free. The show runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday, with more than 200 juried artists. Splash RV Resort, over in Milton, is about 23 miles from Pensacola, roughly a 27-minute drive.

The festival weekend at a glance

  • Dates: Friday, Nov. 6, through Sunday, Nov. 8, 2026.
  • Cost: free to get in, and the kids’ art activities are free too.
  • Where: Seville Square, 301 South Alcaniz St., in Pensacola’s historic district.
  • Pets: not permitted at the Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival.
  • Same weekend: the Blue Angels’ Homecoming Air Show on Nov. 6 and 7 and the Foo Foo Festival (Oct. 29 to Nov. 9).

This show has been around a while. The very first one, called Festival Fever Days, was held in September 1973 and drew more than 7,000 people, according to the Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival’s history page. In Sunshine Artist magazine’s 2024 “200 Best” list, which ranks festivals by artists’ reported sales, the Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival placed No. 18 in the Fine Art & Design category, according to the festival’s ranking announcement. And it’s still a labor of love. “I believe what sets GGAF apart from other festivals and events is that after 50 years, we remain an all-volunteer event,” co-chair Anna Dyess told Sunshine Artist in 2022.

What will you find at the Pensacola arts festival?

Rows and rows of original art. The Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival’s homepage says the three-day juried show “draws over 200 of the nation’s best painters, potters, sculptors, jewelers, graphic artists, artisans, and other artists.” That’s a lot of booths for one park, so give yourself a few hours. Beyond the artist tents, the Pensacola arts festival weekend fills out with:

  • Heritage Arts: traditional craft demonstrations, including engraving, spinning and weaving, which Visit Pensacola places in Historic Pensacola Village.
  • The Student Art Show: more than 2,000 pieces from elementary, middle and high school students in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.
  • Live music: stage acts that run from bluegrass and Cajun to blues, jazz and classical.
  • Food and drinks: the Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival’s food page promises “delicious dining and drink choices for every taste,” so nobody’s shopping hungry.

Walk the whole square once before you buy anything. With that many booths, the painting you’ll fall for might be two rows over. Trust us on this one.

Is the Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival good for kids?

It’s a great pick for families, and the kids’ area costs nothing. The Children’s Art Festival opens at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday at Bartram Park, per Visit Pensacola. The Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival’s visitor page lists face painting, clay play, sand art, sidewalk art and crafts like masks, crowns and magic wands, all free.

Little artists who aren’t done yet can keep going back at the resort. Splash’s weekly activity schedule lists Splash Rocks! rock painting on Saturdays at 10 a.m. The schedule is weather permitting and subject to change, so check what’s on when you arrive.

What is the Foo Foo Festival, and what else is on that weekend?

The Foo Foo Festival is Pensacola’s 12-day arts and culture celebration, and its 13th edition runs Thursday, Oct. 29, through Monday, Nov. 9, 2026. It’s produced by Arts, Culture and Entertainment, Inc. (ACE), and the Foo Foo Festival site says “Some events are FREE, and some events do require a ticket.” A few picks for the arts festival weekend:

  • Saturday, Nov. 7, 7:30 p.m.: the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra plays “Mozart & Bizet” at the Saenger Theatre.
  • Friday and Saturday, Nov. 6 and 7: the Blue Angels come home to NAS Pensacola for their Homecoming Air Show, with free admission and gates opening at 8 a.m., per the official air show site.
  • Saturday morning: Palafox Market, every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Martin Luther King, Jr. Plaza and Plaza Ferdinand.

The air show and the arts festival share Friday and Saturday this year, so plan one big outing per day. Squeezing both into a single day means a lot of time in the car.

Where should you park for the Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival?

Expect to pay for downtown parking on Friday and Saturday, and look forward to free city parking on Sunday. The Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival’s own visiting the festival page says it straight: “Parking is a challenge in downtown Pensacola.” Rates posted by Park Pensacola run $1.75 an hour all day Saturday, including the Jefferson Parking Garage, and city parking is free on Sundays.

  1. Leave the RV at your site. The City of Pensacola’s parking rules say “Do not park commercial vehicles or recreational equipment on the street or right of way,” so drive the tow vehicle or car into town instead.
  2. Use the accessible lot. The Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival’s visitor page says handicap parking is at Bartram Park, and patrons with handicap permits should enter from Main Street at Barracks Street.
  3. Think about Sunday. Park Pensacola lists city parking as free on Sundays, and the arts festival still opens at 9 a.m., so Sunday morning is the low-stress option.

About the dogs: the Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival’s visiting page cites Pensacola’s City Ordinance Section 4-2-33(b), which doesn’t permit pets at outdoor festivals. Pets are welcome at Splash RV Resort, which has dog parks and a washing station.

Because it’s a Thank You weekend, the resort’s hours page says it keeps Fall Bridge Season hours, so the heated pools and lazy river are open from 8 a.m. to dusk. The hot tub’s season starts one week after Labor Day, so it’s ready for you. Splash’s weekly schedule also includes live music on Saturday nights, which is a fun way to cap off a day of art shopping!

How do you get to Seville Square from Splash RV Resort?

Pensacola is about 23 miles from Splash RV Resort, and the drive to Seville Square takes around half an hour when traffic’s normal. Nearly all of it is interstate, which makes for an easy drive:

  1. Leave Splash (8500 Welcome Church Road) and hop on I-10 West toward Pensacola.
  2. Follow I-110 South toward downtown Pensacola.
  3. Exit at Garden Street and head a few blocks south through the historic district to Seville Square.

Give yourself extra time on Friday and Saturday, since the air show crowd heads the same direction. Navarre Beach sits roughly 25 minutes from the resort, if you’d like a quiet beach walk on Sunday afternoon.

Early November weather is usually SO pleasant here. The Florida Climate Center puts Pensacola’s November normals at a 71.8°F high and a 51.0°F low, based on 1991-2020 records. Daylight saving time ends Nov. 1, so the sun sets around 5 p.m. Toss a light jacket in the car for the evening drive back.
