What makes the best extended stay near Pensacola?
The best extended stay near Pensacola gives you a real kitchen, a price you can see up front, laundry and WiFi on site, and somewhere to go besides your four walls. Here’s how a Splash RV Resort cottage measures up on each point:
- A kitchen you can actually cook in: fridge, stove, oven, microwave, toaster and coffee pot, plus a dishwasher in most cottages.
- A posted monthly price: $2,399 or $2,599, listed on the website.
- Laundry on site: Splash has spacious laundry facilities.
- WiFi that streams: every cottage has complimentary streaming WiFi.
- Room to breathe: your own front porch, picnic tables and BBQ grills, free mini golf on all 18 holes, pickleball, a fitness center and heated pools.
- Clear pet rules: designated pet-friendly cottages, a $200 fee and no more than three pets.
It pays to ask early. Demand for long stays is climbing nationwide: extended-stay demand rose 5.8 percent in June 2026, the highest June growth since 2021, according to The Highland Group. Mark Skinner, a partner at The Highland Group, pointed to “a 30 percent drop in extended-stay hotel rooms reported under construction over the last year.” More people want long stays, and fewer new rooms are on the way. Splash only offers a select few of its cottages for monthly rental, so don’t wait until December to call.

Who books an extended stay near Pensacola?
Mostly people who need a home base for a month, not a hotel room for a night. Here’s how a Splash RV Resort stay works in five common situations.
Traveling nurses and hospital staff
Splash RV Resort is about 18 minutes from Santa Rosa Medical Center in Milton. The larger Pensacola hospitals, HCA Florida West Hospital, Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola and Baptist Hospital, are each about 25 to 30 minutes away. After a long shift, coming home to a quiet cottage with a stocked kitchen beats a microwave dinner on a hotel bed.
Military families and student aviators
NAS Whiting Field is about 30 minutes from the resort. Military OneSource calls Whiting Field “the busiest air complex in the world,” and its Training Air Wing FIVE “produces more than 1,200 pilots a year.” Moving on orders? Service members heading to a new duty station in the continental U.S. can now receive Temporary Lodging Expense for up to 21 days, up from 14, a change that took effect Nov. 27, 2024. If the house hunt runs past that, a monthly cottage keeps the family in a real kitchen instead of a single room. Splash offers military discounts too, so ask when you call.
Snowbirds
Winters here are mild, not tropical. By NOAA’s long-term averages, December in Pensacola averages 65.1°F for a high and 45.9°F for a low, and January comes in at 62.7°F and 43.7°F. That’s porch weather most afternoons. RVers who book four or more months get the Stay Longer Special: 20% off food and beverage purchases on site and 20% off reservations for friends and family. Cottage guests qualify with one month.
Remote workers
Every cottage has complimentary streaming WiFi, and the RV sites have complimentary high-speed WiFi for streaming. Just join the SplashRV network, no password required. You’ll have plenty of company, too: a 2026 RV Industry Association survey of summer travelers found that 49% of travelers planned to work remotely by RV this summer, up from 46% the summer before.

Families displaced by Hurricane Isaias
If the storm left your home unlivable, call the Splash office at (850) 600-8500. The resort has special rates for people displaced by the storm. Santa Rosa County’s Hurricane Isaias updates also list local recovery resources.
Is Splash RV Resort close to Pensacola?
Pensacola is a 27-minute, 23-mile drive from Splash RV Resort, and Navarre Beach is 25 minutes the other direction. That puts the airport, the major hospitals and NAS Whiting Field all within about half an hour of your cottage. Times below are typical drives without heavy traffic.
